Spiritual Authority

Spiritual authority does not arise from position, personality, or the approval of others. It is not something that can be granted by institutions nor taken by personal effort. Spiritual authority is the quiet recognition of the presence of God as the only power and the only reality.

When one begins the inner journey, there is often the belief that authority must be developed - through knowledge, discipline, or spiritual accomplishment. Yet in the light of deeper realization, we discover that true authority is not personal at all. It belongs to God alone. The moment we cease trying to become powerful and instead yield to the Divine presence within, authority begins to appear naturally in our experience.

This authority is silent. It does not argue, persuade, or struggle. It rests in the understanding that God, the Infinite Intelligence, governs every aspect of life. In this realization, fear begins to dissolve, for we see that no circumstance, condition, or person has power apart from the One.

When the mind becomes still and receptive, the living presence reveals itself. In that revelation we perceive that harmony is the law of being. Spiritual authority, then, is simply the awareness of this law and the trust to stand in it.

Such authority does not seek to control others. Instead, it blesses. It brings peace to conflict, clarity to confusion, and healing to situations that once seemed beyond remedy. Not through personal will, but through the recognition that the Divine Life is already present and active.

Therefore, spiritual authority is a practice - the practice of surrender. We release the belief in external powers and return to the One. In that yielding, we find that the Infinite itself moves in us, through us and as us, quietly governing, guiding, and fulfilling its own perfect purpose.
