The Wisdom of Uncertainty

I looked in temples, churches and mosques. But I found the divine within my own heart.
~Rumi
To the human mind, uncertainty appears as an unwelcome visitor. It seeks definite answers, secure outcomes, and predictable pathways. Yet the soul discovers that uncertainty is not an enemy but a sacred doorway. When certainty is built upon personal planning alone, it becomes a barrier to the gentle unfolding of divine wisdom within us.
There comes a moment in every spiritual journey when we can no longer rely upon accumulated knowledge or carefully constructed beliefs. Standing in the unknown, we are invited to release the burden of personal control. This surrender is not weakness but a quiet strength. It is the recognition that there is an Infinite Presence already governing life with wisdom beyond human understanding.
The mind asks, “What will happen tomorrow?” Spirit answers only with the sufficiency of this present moment. In the stillness of now, fear loses its foundation because the Presence of God is not revealed through anxious thinking but through inward listening. What appears uncertain to the finite mind is already complete within the divine order.
As we become willing to dwell in the silence without demanding immediate answers, an inner assurance gradually replaces outer certainty. Guidance appears naturally, often one step at a time, never hurried, never delayed. We discover that faith is not believing in a favorable future but awakening to the living Presence that is here now.
The wisdom of uncertainty lies in its power to empty consciousness of false dependence upon human judgment. In that emptiness, Truth reveals itself. Peace no longer depends upon knowing every outcome, but upon knowing the Source from which all right action flows. To rest in that Presence is to find a certainty no circumstance can disturb, for it is grounded not in changing appearances but in the eternal reality of Spirit. God is here now!
Affirmation:
There is no place where God is not! Today uncertainty dissolves into sufficiency and anxiety diffuses into God’s loving presence!
