Grow and Awaken

July 17, 2012

God sleeps in the minerals, dreams in the flowers, is awake in the animals, and in mankind knows that [It] is awake. ~Paramahansa Yogananda

In Jewish mysticism I always find it a wonderful idea that each and every blade of grass has an angel hovering over it whispering, “Grow! Grow!” This is an extraordinary image expressing the individuality of every thing and its connectedness to all, the unity-consciousness, at the same time. Oneness holds within itself the multiplicity of all of creation, of every blade of grass. That which is infinite cannot divide Itself into parts, but that which is finite can expand itself into the Infinite!

We are created in the image and likeness of God. The divine blueprint, which is the essence of all life lives within each and every one of us; and the ever-present God- Love, that which is whispering, “Grow! Grow!” is all nurturing, harmonious and creative, always.

Allow yourself to take a deep inhale right now. Pause for a moment and connect to your breath; be mindful of it. Exhale. Rest in gratitude for this breath. Make it the sole and soul activity of just this moment. This is your breath. This is God's breath. You are connected to the vibratory field of Oneness.

It is this divine self-knowingness in us that distinguishes our human experience from other forms of creation. Choice allows us to be conscious co-creative beings in the Spirit; and to the extent to which we can embody this understanding of our true relationship in God, we expand into the infinite. The Universe responds to our feelings and thoughts and presents to us a perfect mirror of our ideas and beliefs in physical form. Through this sacred relationship within the One Mind, the Spirit knows that It is awake in, as and through me and you.

Affirmation:

I answer the whisper to “Grow!” with a resounding Yes! The awakened Spirit lives within me and my life transforms and expands into places beyond my wildest dreams!
